This 48GB RAM and 1TB SSD configuration uses the Apple M5 Pro chip rather than the standard M5 chip. The 16-inch MacBook Pro is offered with M5 Pro or M5 Max, and Apple lists this configuration with an 18-core CPU and 20-core GPU.
The M5 Pro combines six super cores and twelve performance cores with a 20-core GPU, integrated Neural Accelerators, hardware-accelerated ray tracing and a 16-core Neural Engine. Its 307GB/s unified-memory bandwidth supports professional multitasking, high-resolution media editing, code compilation, graphics rendering and on-device AI processing.
Its 16.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display delivers a 3456 × 2234 resolution, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and ProMotion adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. It also supports P3 wide colour, True Tone, one billion colours and up to 1,600 nits of peak HDR brightness.
Connectivity includes three Thunderbolt 5 ports, HDMI, an SDXC card slot, MagSafe 3 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The M5 Pro supports up to three external displays and includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread wireless connectivity.
A 12MP Center Stage camera, studio-quality three-microphone array and high-fidelity six-speaker system support clear calls, recording and immersive entertainment. The 100Wh battery delivers up to 24 hours of video streaming and supports fast charging with the included 140W USB-C power adapter.
